Texas Aggie Muster
Ever wonder why I love Texas A&M University so much? Got a friend, relative or spouse who is an alum? Do we act a little overly enthusiastic about how much we love our alma mater?
Aggie Muster, held every April 21st, explains it all…..http://muster.tamu.edu/node/22
Muster is a memorial that pays tribute to the Texas Aggie Alumni who have passed away during the past year. A “Role Call for the Absent” is done, where the all of the names of the departed members of the Aggie family are read aloud, followed by a resounding answer of “Here!!!” by a family member or friend, when the name of their loved one is called. I am deeply honored that one day my name will be called in such a manner. God Bless Texas A&M!!!!
The main speaker at Muster this year is Secretary of Defense, Dr. Robert Gates (former president of Texas A&M University). Dr. Gates signature is on my diploma!!

A candle is lit after each family answers the role call for their deceased loved one

“If You Pass It, Victory will come”…..to the ‘Ol Texas Aggies!!
Am I hallucinating??? My beloved Ags are running a pro-style spread offense?
They actually have a coach that is going to utilize a stellar quarterback who excelled in the same offense in high school??? I know I sound cynical, but it’s been painful to watch the Aggies offense for years now. However, they have finally seen the light. They can now compete with Texas and Oklahoma for the blue chip skill players because they will actually pass the ball and put up NFL worthy stats. Mark my words, the new sheriff in the state of Texas is Mike Sherman, not Mack Brown anymore……..

Jasper the Friendly Dog….
The best dog I’ve ever met died last week, on the 4th of July. My wife wrote a beautiful tribute to Jasper on her blog,
My wife, the wannabe Granola
My beautiful wife Shelley successfully used a environmental term that I told her was “not a word….are you really getting a PhD?”
On her blog, http://shelleylyn.com, she used the word “deagriculturalization” in a blog post. Granted we have an ongoing joke (to me that is) where I correct her grammar when she uses hipster IT slang such as “I don’t have enough bandwith to deal with that right now”……What in tarnation does that mean sports fans???
Let’s face it, everybody hates the person who corrects their grammar…..I think karma just kicked my trash
No more holier than thou grammar correcting here…….except when she says “funner”, are you kidding me??

Cache Valley Wetland Conservation Project….USU Aggies helping out
USU Students volunteer on Wetland Restoration project
Several students from the College of Natural Resources at Utah State University volunteered their time on April 12th to assist with the beginning phase of our wetland restoration project. Many members of the Range Club, some who are conservation/reclaimation majors, were extremely helpful due to their knowledge and enthusiasm for such a project. The land owners and myself are very grateful for the contribution of volunteer labor from the USU Range Club
