Wyoming is my favorite place in the world and I haven’t been there since 2001. After going to Rexburg, Idaho for a wedding, my wife and I went to Jackson, my favorite place in WYO. However, it was snowing in April and the snow drifts on the sides of the road were taller than our car! IN APRIL!!!! Once again, St. Albert is having a really bad year….
Back in Wyoming Again!!!! (after 7 years)
An Aggie’s Dilemma…….Obama a Horns’ fan????
Obama tossed around the pigskin with UT quarterback Colt McCoy and was escorted around the UT athletic facilities by coach Mack Brown. He also posed for a photo by their Heisman trophy case, doing the dreaded “Hook ‘Em Horns” hand sign…….oh man, what’s a Texas Aggie to do??? I just wrote a post about how I love Obama and how he will be the first Dem. that I have ever voted for in the presidential race. Granted their debate was in Austin, so I will forgive him for that. Of course, if I were Barack, I wouldn’t hold a rally in College Station, Texas
Gig ‘Em Barack! Beat the Hell Outta Hillary, WHOOP!!!!
Let the Games Begin…….Who will sling more environmental mud, the GOP or the Dems.???
McCain Scores Zero on 2007 Environmental Voting Record
Who has the better voting record on the environment, McCain or Obama? Take a wild guess……I think Obama is going to blow out McCain out of the water in November and won’t even need to use this issue.
Honestly, I have never voted for a Democratic candidate for president….but I will vote for Barack Obama. As far as his stance on environmental issues, I am in agreement with him, but that is almost beside the point. Our president is the “CEO”, so to speak, of this country. He is supposed to be an inspiring figurehead that motivates our citizens and makes us proud to be Americans. After 20 years of Bush/Clinton/Bush, we need an inspiring leader in the mold of Lincoln, FDR, JFK, and Reagan.
When it comes to politics, I’ve come through the looking glass…..going somewhere I never thought I would go. Obama has taught me to “never say never” when it comes to politics. Also, I will be proud to vote for the first minority candidate who is the best candidate in the race. If we are the country with the most freedom and liberty, why have we had 43 white guys calling the shots? Israel had a female prime minister 40 years ago……it is time we do what Obama says and embrace CHANGE. I haven’t “drank the koolaid”, Obama has just proved to me he can inspire our country and make us proud of our leader. In the end, the president hires people and delegates the work. In today’s world, the leader of the free world must be BOTH…..a great delegator and a great communicator. We can’t afford to have another leader who can’t fulfill both roles. Just food for thought sportsfans…..

College Football Signing Day
Well, Uncle Urban pulled off another coup by filling all of his needs with the best players out there. The Miami Hurricanes have the best recruiting class according to ESPN…….well, every single recruit will probably start as a freshman, that is how bad Miami is.
Mike Sherman did very well at Texas A&M, considering the circumstances of his late start on the recruiting trail. In the end, college recruiting is a lot like exit polls at elections. People can “predict” who has the best crop of players, but it all depends on the individual and how much potential a coach can squeeze out of a young teenager. It won’t be long before the ‘ol Ags are finally running a modern offense and begin to consistently stomp a mudhole in UT and OU!! Gig ‘Em Aggies! WHOOP!!

Texas A&M Recruiting

Can the Aggies new coach, Mike Sherman, be able to recruit as well as Bob Stoops and Mack Brown have in recent years? The answer is, we shall see. With Sherman’s offense, the Ags are going to more appealing to the skill position recruits. 2008 may be mediocre, but I am convinced that Mike Sherman will be able to go toe to toe with UT and OU.

You’ve come a long way brother!
My best friend in the world, Jason Mudd, is a very successful man of impeccable integrity. Just ask him, he’ll agree, haha! (just kiddin’ Jay!) Both he and I are big college football fans, our favorite squad being the Florida Gators. Although I grew up a Gator fan and went to school there briefly, he is a much more avid Gator fan than I am. Jason is the CEO and founder of a public relations, marketing, and advertising company called AXIA Public Relations & Marketing, located in Jacksonville, FL.
During our late teens, Danny Wuerffel was the Florida Gators Heisman trophy winning quarterback. He is also the son of an Air Force Chaplain and is now an ordained minister. After several years as an NFL quarterback, Mr. Wuerffel is now the executive director for Desire Street Ministries in New Orleans, LA. Ironically, Jason and Danny’s paths have crossed professionally in recent days. Of course, I am not at liberty to explain the how and the why they came to meet one another. However, it really made me smile when he sent me this picture!
Walt Whitman Quote of the Day
- After you have exhausted what there is in business, politics, conviviality, and so on – have found that none of these finally satisfy, or permanently wear – what remains? Nature remains.
- Walt Whitman
US poet (1819 – 1892)The genius of the United States is not best or most in its executives or legislatures, nor in its ambassadors or authors or colleges, or churches, or parlors, nor even in its newspapers or inventors, but always most in the common people.

Stonewall Jackson’s Book of Maxims: Quote of the Day
“You may be whatever you resolve to be”
Gen. Thomas Jonathan Jackson (personal journal, i.e. Book of Maxims)
This quote is immortalized in the marble of Stonewall Jackson Hall on the campus of Virginia Military Institute. There is no other famous quotation, in my opinion, that better summarizes the “American Dream” so briefly, yet so perfectly.
“It is painful enough to discover with what unconcern they speak of war and threaten it. I have seen enough of it to make me look upon it as the sum of all evils.”
My religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself with that, but to always be ready, no matter when it may overtake me.
